With its long battery performance time, Asus stereo speakers, improved battery times due to the Pine Trail chipset lower power needs, this is an all around top candidate.
Dislikes
Your compromise will be that it’s a fingerprint magnet, not that light, and memory upgrade woes are reported by many users. The touchpad bar takes some getting used to my many, so check it out first. And if you don’t need the extra battery time, you might want the cheaper pre-Pine Trail Asus models.

No Linux version of EEE PC in Malaysia? If I ever to get one of these, probably I would use it only for online purpose and maybe simple editing of doc/html/php files. Thus, IMHO, for such task, to use Windows is kind of overboard.
Many of us shopping for a netbook really only want type and Skype. Browsing and simple tasks on the road. I’m not interested in learning to deal with Linux at this point just to have a travel computer. But I appreciate your input!

I have the Asus Eee PC 1005PE and have never noticed the vibration or fan or noise. Amy perhaps your 1005HA has a problem.
I use this netbook by itself on the road, and at home hook it up to a monitor and radio keyboard/mouse. It is all you need.
One of the reasons I bought this particular netbook was for the long battery life. Just what I need on interminable international flights.

It is an interesting machine, price is low, small but powerful enough to complete day to day internet surfing needs. It is easy to bring along and I am absolutely love it. Due to the nature that the price is low thus we have to sacrifice on the build quality of the laptop. Mine eee pc already having a broken touchpad. Not likely a break but just discoloration on surface due to long usage of it. As fixing solution, I get a matching white touchpad skin from tecty.com to match the white body of eee pc laptop.

Seriously I do hope I found this offer earlier and protect it with transparent one since first day of owning the laptop. A small investment could caused a big different. My next laptop would certainly get protected by tecty.
